• Diesel Exhaust Fluid is monitored for quality and standardized as ISO 22241 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ensuring that Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a stable, non-toxic, odorless & completely safe solution.
• Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a liquid required by today’s diesel engines to meet the stringent emission standards controlled by the EPA. DEF is never added to diesel fuel, it is injected directly into the exhaust stream using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). It is a non-hazardous solution of approximately 32.5% urea in 67.5% de-ionized water. DEF is clear, colorless and looks exactly like water. It has a slight smell of ammonia, similar to some home cleaning age some home cleaning agents. DEF is used in SCR technology to remove harmful NOx emissions from diesel engines.
